Biography

Born in 1976 in Bensberg, near Cologne, electronical music put him under its spell at the late 90s. When he got his first turntables and assumed control at various parties playing records, the direction was clear. Only the pace nobody had expected. Serkan Tan, aka ‘DJ DEE-LA’, only 32 years old has his first anniversary to celebrate. For almost 10 years, he is pushing the dancing crowd at each of his gigs routinely and tricky to top performances.
He hardly had his first gigs done in 1998, when a series of Residentcerys started at the end of the 90s lasting to the new millennium. It started in 1999 in the former Neuschwanstein, inCologne, where he played the records every Saturday and before public holidays until 2002. During the same period of time he was also booked for the Pentagon, every Friday.

The club-owners attention went beyond national borders to the beautiful Spanish Island Ibiza. It were the summer seasons 2000-2002 when he rocked the house every Wednesday in the world famous El Divino to the very delight of the Clubber. Next door the legendary Space Club kept an eye on him and promptly secured its capabilities for Thursdays – regular. In 2001 and 2002 he brought the location to the boil. This arrangements aroused greed in three other party ranks in Germany, to commit DEE-LA to join them. So he did every 2nd Saturday of the month from 2001 to 2003 at the Flashback events. On further weekends between 2001 and 2005 DEE-LA was on the road for the Duesseldorf Noh club community. Furthermore, he was at the turntables at the Butan in Wuppertal.

His DJ sets are legendary in the local scene and have special opponent recognition. Therefore a lot more clubs and discos engaged DEE-LA as their monthly Resident DJ. Among others, these were the locations in Cologne (GER): Appollo, Lulu, The boat, Tiefenrausch, Dollhouse and the Gloria. More Guest Acts (GER): Ex (Bonn), Matrix (Bochum), Synchron Club (Dortmund), Wasserburg (Geretzhoven), Base (Sinzig), O-Club (Soest), Kick (Herford), Ox (Paderborn), Thueringenhalle (Erfurt), Kesselhaus (Wipperfuerth), etc. Double and triple bookings on one evening were not uncommon.

Whether electric, house, minimal, progressive, techno or trance. Depending on the location, the Party People, and the motto he plays the right genre. DEE-LA serves the right repertoire. “But it must be DEEP …” he says and modifies those divisions to DEEPELEKTRO, DEEPHOUSE, DEEPMINIMAL, DEEPPROGRESSIV, DEEPTECHNO and DEEPTRANCE. Make his appearances unmistakable. Not for nothing they say: ‘DEEP, DEEPER, DEE-LA!’ “… must be grooving as well.” So right, DEE-LA!
He wanted to interpret his own, so-called, ‘DEEP-DEEL-STYLE’ in his own music. So he produced own tracks with his old school friend, fellow DJ and sound engineer Bodo Felusch. This artistic collaboration got quickly successful, as the first albums were released at well-known labels such as Sounds Good Recordings, Underworld Rec., Irregular Rec. and Three Elements. The tracks were played around the globe and made it after a short time to the playlists of well known DJs and producers. Global support was one of the pleasant consequences.
In 2005, Bodo Felusch founded his own label, Unvirtual Music. Since then FELUSCH and DEE-LA both published their own releases as well as several national and international artists on this label. In addition to his work as a DJ and producer, DEE-LA is the AR-Manager at Unvirtual Music, thus he is responsible for new releases and artist-scouting.
